Micro-Coated Bolted Steel Storage: Overview

The SAGOSI micro-coated bolted steel tank is a high-performance, lower-cost alternative to glass-fused-to-steel for demanding effluent and process liquids. A specialised micro coating system delivers 2000-hour salt-spray resistance, high coating adhesion and a wide pH tolerance from 3 to 13 — making it well suited to biogas, slurry, sludge, ethanol, molasses and aggressive industrial effluent. The tank is designed to ANSI AWWA D103-09 with ISO 9001:2008 quality control.

For effluent treatment operators, the micro-coated bolted tank is the proven permanent solution to the recurring leakage of civil RCC tanks: the steel shell is non-porous, there is no rebar to corrode, and the factory-coated, gasketed panels are bolted on site in days rather than weeks. The tank is relocatable, expandable and reusable, with capacities from 25 m³ to 10,001 m³ for ETP, STP, ZLD and fire water duty.

Micro-Coated Bolted Steel Storage — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a micro-coated bolted steel tank used for?

It is engineered for demanding liquids — industrial effluent (ETP/ZLD), biogas digesters, slurry and sludge, ethanol, molasses and fire water — where a tough, chemically resistant contact surface is required at a competitive cost.

How chemically resistant is the micro coating?

The micro coating offers 2000-hour salt-spray resistance and a wide pH tolerance from 3 to 13, with high adhesion to the steel substrate for long service in aggressive environments.

Is a micro-coated tank a good replacement for a leaking civil ETP tank?

Yes. The non-porous steel shell with no exposed rebar eliminates the porosity, chemical attack and rebar-corrosion failures that cause civil RCC tanks to leak repeatedly, and it can be installed in days without a wet construction site.

What capacity and standards apply to micro-coated tanks?

Capacities range from 25 m³ to 10,001 m³. Tanks are designed to ANSI AWWA D103-09 under ISO 9001:2008 quality control, and are relocatable, expandable and reusable.
